Secret Sauce

1.     I always find that pointing things out about yourself is very difficult to do. When I try to take a step back and look at myself from an outside perspective I think there are definitely qualities that make me different.
·      I would say that I am a very persistent person. I am not the kind who takes no for an answer if it is something that I truly believe in. I will do whatever it takes to get my way (in the most positive way). For example, when I graduated high school I wanted to move to Nashville but going to college out of state was not realistic. So after attending UCF and FAU I decided to transfer to UF’s Online program so that I could move to Tennessee while keeping my in-state tuition in Florida. Persistence is a quality that I don’t think everyone has, but it is super important.
·      I am a passionate person when I want to accomplish something. I try to focus my energy on what I want and find a way to achieve those goals. I am passionate for many things, including music, making people happy and connecting with others. I love making a difference in people’s lives.
·      I would say that I am a very independent person. I think that this could be good or bad but I think the way I manage it is unique. I am a pretty introverted person and am the type who does not have this big, overpowering personality when you first meet me. But over time I open up and really show you my true self. I am independent in the fact that I do not depend on other people to bring me happiness. I have discovered this by being let down so many times by other people. I think independence is a very unique skill because it shows that you can get things done on your own without having to always depend on others.
·      I invest my time strategically. I truly believe that quality is better than quantity and I live by that in many aspects of my life. The main part of my life that I truly follow that is with my friendships. I am not the person who has an excessive amount of friends, but I like to have a select few that I really trust and know I can go to. I know when people are treating me right and deserve my time and when they don’t. I feed off of peoples energies so if I feel like someone is bringing more negative energy than positive energy into my life then I most likely am going to distance myself from them.
·      I would say that another quality that makes me unique is my empathy. I really try to feel other peoples’ emotions and understand how they are feeling. I like to help people with anything they are going through and make sure they are happy. If somebody needs something, especially a family member or close friend, I will most likely drop whatever I’m doing to help them. I believe in karma and like to make sure I am bringing positivity into other peoples’ lives.
Kelli interview:  I really liked hearing what Kelli had to say about me because it showed me an outside perspective of what other people say about me. I thought it was interesting to hear her say she doesn’t think I’m exactly a “people person” but creates good relationships with others. I think this is pretty in line with what I had to say about quantity over quality with friendships. A lot of the things that Kelli had to say about me I can agree with and think is very accurate!
Randy Galmarini: My dad knows me extremely well since he has watched me grow up and become the person I am today. I loved hearing him talk about the different skills he thinks I have such as writing and creativity. I am very passionate about music and all things creative so to hear my dad talk about that is really cool and I think accurate!
Tiffany Galmarini: I also asked my sister to talk about what she sees in me that is unique. She pointed out a few of the courses I have taken over my college career that has helped me further my knowledge in social media and speaking. I really liked hearing that she said I have the ability to adapt because I agree with that and think that is an extremely important characteristic for being an entrepreneur.
Rachel Hemsath: Rachel and I grew up together so she knows me just as much as anyone in my family so it is awesome to hear what she thinks about some of my characteristics. I definitely agree with being street smart and book smart and I do help her with a lot of life situations that she goes through.
Blake Galmarini:  I definitely think I have set myself up in a way to be well-rounded in different areas of life like he mentioned. I know that I have a long way to go and can improve myself but I try to be the best I can be and help others along the way as well.

I wouldn’t make any corrections to my list. I feel like I am pretty honest to myself and how I am as a person. I know that I have good qualities but I also know that I have areas to improve. I think I can always continue working on my people skills but a lot of the ways that I am how I am is because of my introverted personality. I also know that I can improve my time management skills. But if you’re not always looking to make improvements in yourself then you probably aren’t being challenged.

  1. Brooke,
I think it's awesome that you know yourself so well. It can be really hard to have a firm grasp on who you are as a person and what you want out of life. When someone does know those things it makes them more confident and overall a better person. It's awesome that you are already aware of your weaknesses and strengths and that you know what to work on to better yourself as a person.

  2. Brooke,
I agree that pointing things out about yourself is always a hard thing to do. I feel like people always view us a little bit differently than we view ourselves. It sounds like you're a very strong person who is on top of their stuff and knows how to be successful. I like your comment at the end of your post that if you aren't looking to make improvements in your life then you aren't being challenged.
