Halfway Reflection

1.    Behaviors that I have used to keep up with the work in this course is being organized and making sure I get all of my assignments done on time whether I want to or not. Life gets busy but when you prioritize your commitments it makes it easier to complete the work.
2.    I am taking 3 courses online, working an internship, I song write, perform and am working on building a brand and business out of my music career. I am busy every single day and sometimes it is hard to focus on getting school work done when there are so many other things to do. I have to remember why I am getting a degree and how it will be able to help me in the future.
3.    I think the biggest tips to developing a tenacious mindset is
1.    Write down why you are doing what you are doing - this will help to remind you to stay positive and achieve your goals.
2.    Stay organized - a cluttered mind will not help you move forward. If you stay organized you can clearly see what you need to accomplish on what days.
3.    Keep going even on the days when you want to quit - Some days will be amazing and make you want to keep going. Some days you will want to quit. Keep going regardless of how you're feeling because you will be so happy by the end of your journey.
Developing a tenacious mindset is not easy and it can take some time and failures to develop. But when you realize what you want out of school, work, etc., then it will help you push through on the days that you don’t want to.

  1. Hi Brooke, Good job keeping up with everything you have going on currently and still staying on track with the amount of school work from 3 classes and the internship. I can relate that sometimes I don’t want to do any school work but knowing that all this work is for the degree and the opportunities it will open later on will pay off.

  2. Brooke,
Since this class has so many requirements and assignments it is easy to fall behind whether on the lectures or the peer reviews, so I understand the struggle of trying to stay organized and developing set times to work on homework when we all live such busy lives. I completely agree that persistence is key. I tend to take things day by day when I get overwhelmed. It makes things seem easier when you separate your tasks.

  3. Hi Brooke! Before reading your post I want to say I love the picture you chose, my mom always says to never say you cant and I agree with that mindset. It's crazy hearing you have so many responsibilities this semester, it's definitely important to stay on task and time manage really well. I also really agree with the three tips you gave for future success in this class.

  4. Brooke,
This is a great post and I agree with what you said at the end about developing a tenacious mindset not being easy and taking some time. My biggest thing about being successful is writing down my schedule and making time to complete my assignments. I think staying on top of a schedule is very important when someone is busy and really helps a person manage their life better.
