Solving The Problem
My opportunity is people
being too hot or cold in their homes and needing to find a way to regulate the
temperature better. I actually ended up touching on this along with my
opportunity hypothesis with my interviewees which was very interesting! My idea
is to create an app that can be downloaded to a fit bit or other smart watch that
can monitor a persons’ body temperature. By monitoring the temperature of the
person wearing the watch, then the air conditioning can adjust accordingly to
make sure they are always comfortable. There would also be able to create
settings for when you aren’t home and maybe want to keep it a warmer to save
money on electric, etc. There will also be an air conditioning service sold so
that customers can buy the air conditioning system to link with their app. The
app will also be compatible to air conditioning systems that are already able
to connect with an app. The app wouldn’t need to be expensive – just about
$9.99 – but the customer would need to invest in a smart watch and the air system.
Although these seem like big costs, many people already have a smart watch or
the air conditioning system so it wouldn’t be too unrealistic. I think that the
need is there and people have the issue of wanting their homes to stay at a
comfortable temperature but they would struggle to find the need to actually
buy the expensive products beyond just the app.
Hi Brooke,
ReplyDeleteI really like your idea of creating an app that could control the air temperature based from a person’s body temperature. This would be great to always ensure the perfect temperature when you walk in the room. I’ve actually tried doing this before because I don’t like having to adjust the temperature, but I couldn’t find anything that didn’t involve some complicated procedure to the a/c thermostat.
Brooke,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great solution to the problem. There have been so many times where I need to put a blanket on because I get too cold or take it off because I get too hot. Having something that just automatically changes the thermostat based on my body temperature would come in handy because I wouldn't have to deal with putting a blanket on every time I get cold or change the thermostat when I get too hot.
